The tendency towards falling into the “mud of laziness" is spoken of in the warrior tradition of Shambhala as a fundamental obstacle to experiencing basic goodness. Laziness can be understood as an avoidance of the rawness of experience, as a reaction to boredom, as comfort orientation or as a loss of heart. Working with laziness can be done in a single moment and is also an element of the ongoing discipline of warriorship. In this Sunday Gathering we will look into the personal ways that laziness arises in our practice and life and reflect on what it means to overcome laziness and appreciate the warrior’s world.
