We welcome you to Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective’s Global Celebration of Harvest of Peace.
Join us for a community meditation practice and lhasang, community sharing and discussion, and a celebration of the equinox and changing of the season. In honor of the passing of a very good friend of The Touching the Earth Collective (TTEC), this year the TTEC aims to go higher and bigger. The prompt is to harvest beyond the "low hanging fruit." It is known that the higher the fruit, the more ripe and nutritious. So it is a good idea to climb higher — to put more effort in, so to speak. We are suggesting doing the hard thing first.
Show up to the Harvest of Peace Sunday Gathering ready to share your new recipe — or an aspiration that sparks your senses to explore new territory. Not the low hanging haiku, though we love a good haiku, but try writing a sonnet. Show us the pie you baked, but make your own pie crust, if you've only ever used store bought. The point of doing the hard thing first is to stretch and discover — and then share your experience with others!
The Protection of the Earth will require us to make a bigger effort than ever before, so let's honor that sentiment by celebrating in our Harvest of Peace feasts and celebrations with a dedication to do the hard thing first. With lhasang, song, and a brilliant display of the bounty of the earth, we will celebrate the Harvest of Peace together.
