Course Overview
Join us on this journey—without goal! This course will introduce the key principles of tantra and provide a direct and experiential picture of the tantric world, including the importance of self-existing energy, the mandala principle, and the difference between Buddhist and Hindu tantra - stressing the nontheistic nature of Buddhism. The role of the teacher and the meaning of vajrayana transmission are also explored.
This seven session course features teaching videos of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche from Naropa University in the summer of 1974. These seminal talks by one of the great Tibetan meditation masters of the 20th Century help demystify the vajrayana, and at the same time affirm the power and sacredness of these ancient teachings and their continued relevance for today’s world. They were also the basis for Trungpa Rinpoche’s seminal book Journey without Goal.
More than a thousand spiritual seekers received these original teachings in fourteen talks
These talks will be unpacked and explored by experienced dharma teachers, many of whom were present for these original talks, who will lead you in shared discussions and contemplations of these profound and potent teachings.
