By shortening the distance between consumers and producers, we structurally encourage diversity on the farm – which in turn means greater productivity, more local livelihoods, more nutritious food and healthier ecosystems.Participants will dive into the spiritual, ecological, and health benefits of participating in local food economies. About Helena
Linguist, author, and filmmaker, Helena Norberg-Hodge is the founder and director of the international non-profit organisation, Local Futures, a pioneer of the new economy , and the convenor of World Localization Day. She is the author of several books, including ‘Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh’, an eye-opening tale of tradition and change in Ladakh, or “Little Tibet”. Together with a film of the same title, Ancient Futures has been translated into more than 40 languages, and sold half a million copies.

Topics in this five-day Eco-Dharma Talk series range from circular economies, the importance of local food, finding our way in the midst of climate and other crises, ”inner dimensions of sustainability," and our connection to the sacred earth. This talk series is being offered by Shambhala Online, in collaboration with Dechen Chöling Retreat Centre in France, and hosted by the Shambhala Touching the Earth Collective.
