LAGC/ Intro to the course: How to participate

Welcome to The Lost Art of Good Conversation online class series. We’re very happy that you’ve chosen to explore the practice of conversation with this group of interested students.

How the Course Works

At your own pace, you’ll travel with the group through one class each week (five classes total). Classes will include:

  • Readings fromThe Lost Art of Good Conversation
  • Video talks
  • Meditations and exercises
  • Online (typed) interactions with other students
  • Online live exchange in small groups using an online video chat system
  • One-on-one conversation with buddy

This online version is designed to allow you to complete the course at times that are convenient for you, but also interact with the other students in the course. The more you participate, the more you will get out of it. It is not unlike life in that way!

In each discussion, please post at least once. You are welcome to post as many times as you wish and respond to othersposts. You are encouraged to share your insights with the group. This isn’t about getting the “right” answer, but about exploring your own experience and wisdom and sharing with others.

When you listen to the talks please close all other programs on your computer and maximize the video to full screen. Give yourself the gift of this time to watch the talk without distraction.
