Seeds of War, Seeds of Peace: Religious Conflict in Today’s World
Lecture at Al-Akhawayn University
Richard Reoch, President of Shambhala, was invited to lecture on Buddhism at Al-Akhawayn University in Morocco. In addition, he gave a public talk. Reoch speaks on religious conflict around the world, and the deeper forces that may be driving that.
“This is an opportunity,” Reoch says, “to share deep concerns about buddhist violence in South and South East Asia, global Islamophobia, the sharp rise in anti-semitism and other manifestations of human hatred, as well as to examine the influence of spirituality in the search for peace.”
The talk aired live on Thursday, november 13.
See the recording of the talk here. It includes opening remarks by Al Akhawayn University’s Vice President Dahbi on the importance of a Buddhist raising these issues.
