Practice and Study of the Kagyu Mahamudra
Kagyu Mahamudra Series Year 1 - Talk 3
"The quintessence of the … countless teaching of the buddhas is that the wisdom essence … is present as the nature of sentient beings. Among all the different kinds of teaching is one that is the most eminent, the shortest path, the ultimate meaning… Mahamudra is the supreme method that directly and easily reveals the natural face of the mind in which the three kayas are spontaneously present."

Shamatha Mahamudra Part Two -
Orientation to Talks 4 through 6 From Khenpo Tsultim Gyamtso Rinpoche's exposition of Shamata Mahamudra.
This presentation is the third talk in the study of Kagyu Mahamudra based on Khenpo Tsultim's exposition of the 9th Karmapa's Ocean of Definitive Meaning.
Scott Wellenbach co-presents with the Loppon.
Scott is a long time member of the Nalanda Translation committee; is quite familiar with Khenpo Rinpoche’s teaching, and has led a number of mahamudra retreats in Halifax over the years, and, along with Mr Andy Karr, has been leading group contemplation sessions in Halifax for many years.
Skillful methods of mahamudra shamatha:
- External sense perception
- A lamp, space and bindu as meditative focus and symbols
- Pure and internal meditative focus, and focus without reference point
In addition to the main presentation, we have introduced a program of practice and study that can be pursued at local centers. For more information, request to join the group Kagyu Mahamudra Forum on the Shambhala Network.
PREREQUISITE: Open to all Shambhala Tantrikas.
NOTE: Talks 1 and 2 should be heard first since these presentations are sequential.
